According to MMA Weekly episode 5 of The Ultimate Fighter 5 did a 1.1 rating, up from the all-time series low 1.0 of episode 4. Here are the ratings of the first 5 episodes so far this season:

Episode 1 – 1.4
Episode 2 – 1.3
Episode 3 – 1.2
Episode 4 – 1.0
Episode 5 – 1.1

Although this rating was an improvement that viewers were likely dissatisfied with the show that did not feature any fights and instead featured Gabe Ruediger unsuccessfully attempting to cut weight. On the positive side of things, a 2 fight episode (episode 6) was plugged likely with hopes of attracting larger audiences for the final 2 episodes of the first rounds of fights. Both episode 6 and 7 feature two fights and it may pay off in the ratings.
