That’s great and all but what’s the latest news on Rampage? Is he going to make a statement, press conference, conference call? I want to know his side of the story.

  • Curtis says:

I think it may be awhile before we hear anything official from page or the UFC. Hopefully it will come soon, but I am sure it won’t be until they have any concrete information to share. Dana was on Fox Sports Radio this weekend and seemed to completly avoid the question but said they are friends and he is looking at Rampage’s health first.

I want to know if the Okami injury is true.. I figured if it was, it woulda hit this or ufc.com by now

Here is a copy/paste from Yahoo sports for latest on Rampage:

We finally tracked down UFC president Dana White for an update on Rampage Jackson’s condition. There’s still much that is unknown and doctors are far from an official diagnosis. White told Yahoo! Sports that Jackson was initially going to stay in care for 72 hours but that has now been extended.

“I think it’s going to be a while before we get him back. I’m talking as a friend. It’s a sensitive issue. Rampage, the UFC fighter, who cares about that. We’re concerned about Rampage, the human being. What matters is his personal life.”

White also talked about some strange circumstances that led up to Jackson’s episode Tuesday.

“He was up for four days and he was doing some crazy fasting thing. He was up for four days, drinking water and energy drinks, that was it. It’s not good.

White said he knew that as soon as he arrived in Southern California on Tuesday night that something was seriously wrong with Jackson.

“Rampage doesn’t do drugs. Rampage really doesn’t even drink. This whole thing made no sense to me. (Then) when I got there it made a lot of sense.”

It sounds like the stress of stardom took its toll on Jackson before and after the Forrest Griffin fight.

“As this thing continues to grow and people will get more famous,” said White. “Fame isn’t easy to deal with. Harder for all the fighter are all the cling-ons. I can’t police every fighter. As soon as something goes wrong I’m there and I’ll help them.”

  • Curtis says:

What was the date on this?

  • The Rob says:

water and energy drinks hey? Shiiiiiiiiiit…. I guess it’s good to know I have a better diet than a former UFC champion…

  • Kris Karkoski says:

Okami injury is true. The UFC won’t announce it as the fight was never officially announced. It’s likely going to be Silva-Cote at UFC 88.

  • Dietrich says:

Silva-Cote—-UGHH…. I know he beat The Big Dog and all but this fight has the appeal of watching flies fall in love.

  • Tspence says:

im a canadian cote fan but….poooooor patrick

  • natedogg77 says:

The Yahoo article was posted yesterday.

I agree Cote v. Silva sucks. Cote will get KOed in less that 2 mins.

  • Dannyboy says:

The only way Cote will last longer than 2 minutes is if Dana pays Anderson some side money to make it last longer.

Someone mentioned a nod by Silva’s opponent just before he KTFO’d him. Is there any truth to this or was it total BS?

  • ufcmanz says:

Silva does have this problem with medial suspensions because like in the leben fight he never got hit once or like the Irvin fight him took one leg kick

  • Cole Miller says:

ah jesus…cote is going to get destroyed…its like throwing a chicken in a lion’s den

  • joel b says:

    thats a lot of suspensions

  • Dom_Diegos says:

So who do you think is the best fight in hte UFC for Silva? GSP, Iceman, Wandi, Ryoto, Bonner, jackson, Rua, Griffinj, Evans, Jardine, Grove, Horn, Marquardt, Okami, Diaz, Penn? And these are just some in a few weight classes in the UFC.
