As for James' comment: "UFC out sold Boxing in PPV sales last year and fighters make 20 million a fight in boxing…think about it!"

Ok so they outsld boxing throughout 1 year. That doesn't make them able to spend hundreds of millions of dollars on fighters. It will take a few years at the same pace to do that. Do I believe they can pay fighters more if they had to? Sure. But they can't keep up with boxing yet. If you make $20 million in a year, it can't just go straight to the fighters if you want to make the company grow.

Affliction is a clothing company they can hide money very easy sponsoring fighters without having them pay US taxes. Fedor without question got a signing bonus plus a ppv bonus that fighters like Chuck get in UFC. The 300k is that low for the simple fact that fedor wanted it that low to avoid taxes. As I was watching the fight I was praying that the fighers were gonna get paid better wages then UFC. Everyone knows the fighters check online to see salaries and soon the wave of fighters leaving UFC will happen as long as they didn't sign long term contracts. And that company that went from 2 million when it started to 2 billion now will have to start paying there fighters what they derserve. UFC out sold Boxing in PPV sales last year and fighters make 20 million a fight in boxing...think about it!

Trump may not be in the top 20 richest people in NY, but that doesnt mean he doesnt have hundreds of millions of $$$$. Dnt forget about the casinos in NJ he has. Tim definatly, by far got paid waaaaaaaaay to much. Arlovski had a great fight, the flying knee he threw was cool.

Good point WM. If they do have a chance to sign more "decent" fighters, they could potentially have more fights per year, giving way to more revenue, and still be able to pay the fighters a decent salary. This could make or break Affliction because these fighters now, and the ones looking in, will try to expect more because of what this card payed. Too keep up with this bankroll they better start selling a lot more tshirts. lol

It's easy to pay 20 guys this kind of money when they are the only 20 guys you have in your promotion. Affliction blew their load on this one, I don't expect these salaries to remain high if their roster develops to 100+ fighters. My understanding with Sylvia is that he has a management gruop representing him which allows him to do fights in a number of promotions. The big payout is because he is signing single fight deals. I don't think he'll have the same bargaining power for his next fight.

The Affliction ppv was great, laughed at sylvia cheered for arlovski.
That said they need some work on production and the entertainment horible. Megadeath? what the hell!
As for Dana White and the UFC, The UFC is a great company that was well put together and puts on a great show most of the time with an amazing roster and will be very tough to dethrone.
Then you have Dana White a retard with power between making the bulk of his fighters beat the crap out of each other for peanuts, then having childish fits and getting rid of the fighters who don't shine his helmet on command including the superstars with Dana at the reigns Affliction will sign more great fighters yearly hell even monthly if they keep up the payroll and give fair shots at being a contender.

UFC roster a plus
Dana White a negative
equals great chance of a Affliction roster in near future!

I am sure Dana will be fielding a lot of questions about fighter salaries in the coming days, about the significant difference. But again, fighters gravitate to the most well known organization for exposure, which leads to sponsorship money, endorsement deals, which right now is the UFC. Until Affliction, or your local backyard octogon can get a few shows under there belt, and build some capital, UFC will keep doing what they are doing and reaping all the rewards and having fighters fight for pennies on the dollar!!

$3,300,000 + $2,000,000 in venue/production costs = $5,300,000. Average ticket price: $300. $5.3 mil divided by $300 = 17,650 in-venue spectators to cover the event.

Rough calculations, but the message is that the event revenue typically cover the event and PPV rev is gravy. Compare that to UFC and you can see the enormous gap between the fighter salaries (product costs) and profit.
