Since When is an eye poke a TKO? Burns should have been DQ
Anderson has some serious power at 205!
burns should have been hit with a DQ!!!
silva is seriously a beast!!
i do not see him being stopped anytime soon!!
looking 4ward to that ufc 87 card!!!
its stacked!
the pound for pound king reings supream once again
man that was a good last fight Anderson Silva easy night for him, but it was not like he was fascing chuck or anything it was James Irvin like did anyone see him losing ????
I’m not going to lie. I have had doubts about Silva in some respects before. NO MORE. Wow, he and Fedor both proved why they the best of the best. Impressive night of fights.
Yes rutdog
Both these guys showed Just WHO’s WHo in MMA A good Night TO BE A FAN
Not trying to sound like a conspiracy theorist but did anyone notice a slight nod from Irvin right before he threw the kick that was caught by Silva? It looked to me like he nodded slightly that would indicate a known result of the match. Now if he did throw it he set himself up for some real pain at the hands of the 3rd best pound for pound fighter in the world.
I just think it was a little too perfect on a night when the UFC was scrambling to prove its watered down product is still the best. I firmly believe the best promotion is still UFC but besides for some pretty lackluster commentating and TV presentation the Affliction promotion proved it has some muscle. I think Mr. White may be running scared.
WOW! I sure called that Silva fight. Feels good being right….I should go look in the mirror and really enjoy this moment. Silva is POUND FOR POUND the most lethal man on the planet. Fedor is no longer my hero for the next three days. Anderson Silva is my hero until further notice.
i was pretty much on point with my pics
3rd best pound for pound in the world Anderson Silva!!!!!
I hope Farber’s neck and head are okay…..he’s going to feel like sh!t tomorrow.
no offence to anyone or any disrespect, but theres alot of people on this site and others who are probably still sitting back saying.. well im just never going to doubt anyone again, anything can happen.. that was insane..
there was alot of people saying the fight would last and irvin would knock out silva, just goes to show anything can happen and in this case, we shouldnt be surprised anymore!
I really though Anderson would lose or at least be tested, that knock down shot must have way more powerful than it looked or Irvin’s must have a glass jaw
Thought Vera looked poor, the Burns/Johnson decision was just plain silly and as for JT Money…….hopefully thats the last we see of him, I enjoyed his loss…… and what the f*ck is a Peruvian Neck Tie, I don’t think i’ve seen that before, outstanding !!!!
I’m glad I waited untill Affliction was all over youtube.com the next day. I would of been pissed to pay $39.99 to see Fedor RNC Tim in 30 seconds. This card was good dispite 2 controversial fights. JT got illegally rocked and had like 10 seconds to clear his head from the knee when the ref should of encouraged him to take his time if he needed it or to call the fight because he got smashed pretty good and was sluggish there on after. And Anthony Johnson got ripped off that was ridiculous.
Anderson Silva is a beast tore apart a top notch striker in his own game.
Silva is crazy good. Him vs. Cote will be interesting. And Edgar is for real! He should fight the winner of KenFlo/El Matador matchup to face Penn for the LW title. Urijah Fabers only loss? Edgar! He’s for real. I’m so stocked for the next few UFC events! Silva/Machida will be awesome! Anyone see a FItch upset??? It could happen, right?
Oops i meant Fabers only loss was to Tyson Griffin. And Edgar beat Griffin! my bad…
I WANT TO SAY TO EVERYONE THAT I WAS WRONG…COMPLETLY WRONG ANDERSON SILVA IS THE BEST AND HE IS JUST AS POWERFUL,JUST AS QUICK, AND JUST AS SMART AT 205 AS HE IS 185…I AM EMBARRESED TO HAVE WATCH A MAN LIKE JAMES IRVIN WHO SAID HE WOULD DO EVERYTHING HE COULD TO BEAT ANDERSON SILVA, THEN TO INSTEAD COME OUT THROW A LAZY LOW AND GET CLOCKED IN THE JAW…AND ON TOP OF THAT HE JUST SAT THERE ON THE GROUND TAKING A BEATING AND DID NOTHING…I AM SORRY EVERYONE I WAS WRONG….AND FOR THAT I AM SORRY BUT BESIDES THAT RORY MARKHAMS HEAD KICK WAS NICE!
Urijah Fabers only loss was Tyson Griffen.
I do think Edgar should drop to 145 for a shot at Faber. UFC owns WEC so why not he ain’t going to beat BJ.
edgar is boring, and he was just coming off a loss to gray maynard. no edgar will not/should not have a title fight
tj,
just for a laugh i’d like to hear the fighters you have in front of silva
and conspiracy?!?! what moron put that on. yeah, irvin nodded to him telling him to ko him at that moment. what a dumbass thing to say. look at irvin’s fight history. the guy is tough but gets caught, all you irvin backers who swore that he’d ko silva apologize
cincy
I read that conspiricy b*llocks earlier, thats one of the most retarded things i’ve ever read on these pages
I’m assuming if TJ has Silva as 3rd p4p in the world numbers 1 & 2 must be Fedor & Bisping, in no particular order !!!
I refuse to apologize because I thought Irvin would have a punchers chance. I did think he would do better than that and if you look at my previous post, then you will see that I already admitted to Silva’s total domination.
Edgar is nowhere close to a title shot, and I do believe he could do a lot better at 145, but he’s rolling with good 155er’s, so why drop yet.
TJ, The conspiracy thing that was mentioned on here, shut the heck up and stop being that guy. You’re probably only watching UFC because Lesnar is now in it, and you’ve always been a WWE fan.
Just thought I’d post this in case some of you haven’t seen it. I think it’s the funniest ending to a fight ever.

bisping as 1 or 2 p4p? come on man. i know your from the uk and trying to back your boy but there is no way bisping is in the top 20 p2p best. i like bisping and think the move to 185 was good for him but put henderson or franklin at him and it would be ugly. and i know you know he cant mess with silva
cincy
I’m only joking pal, I would have replied sooner but my computer keeps f*cking crashing ever since I tried to look at the link TMoney suggested, thanks dude !!!!!!!!!!
A couple things from last night. Why did Yamasaki let Silva get 8 or 9 BIG shots in when the fight was clearly over and WTF is up with the new eye poke technique being OK. Maybe they need to go to instant replay to clear that up. By the way, the 40 bucks was well worth it. The fights were staggared so you could flip back and forth and never miss a thing (with a little help from DVR).
Last thing. I am worried about Randy against Fedor. Especially in a ring where he cant push him into the fence.
jpm,
sorry man, i don’t know much about computers so i don’t know why that happened. check it out if you can though. its good.
cincy, easily Fedor and Faber are ahead of Silva. No need to get offensive and start calling names, I was just trying to incite conversation. Down boy, down.
Tmoney
No worries mate, my computers working again now, still can’t view those things on the link though, oh well i’ll try again tomorrow from the work computer. I like funny sh*t like that too, try the youtube website & search under midget fighting or smackfest
This card was descent, Silva is the man, however, the Affliction PPV was well worth the money. Their broadcasting crew and production value was poor though. Affliction should co-promote every event, like they did with M1 on Saturday. Dana didn’t sign Fedor to fight Couture, because M1 wanted to share in the promotion and be able to take the UFC belt, if Fedor won. UFC 87 is stacked, but I hope Dana isn’t going to add a promotion every time Affliction decides to hold an event. There is enough room for everyone. UFC is still the best, and there is no need for a water-downed product, like Saturdays.’
Gunslinger,
You are a good person to admit you were wrong. Anderson Silva is the most badass guy in the Universe. He’ll f up the toughest aliens on Jupiter. I would not be too surprised to see Anderson KO a grizzly bear. The reason Irvin did nothing on the ground is because Silva caught Irvin’s kick then followed up with a strait punch that looked like it broke Irvin’s brain. Irvin may have been KO for a split second on his way down after the first punch. Wonderful ass whoopin.
Irvin was barely conscious when he fell, and after the first 2 or 3 punches on the ground, it was over. The last one that landed was the one that split Irvin’s face open, I think, and honestly that one shouldn’t have happened. It was a judgement call, and he did have his hands up defending until that last punch landed, so I guess that was good timing by Yamasaki. But, I will say again, Anderson Silva, WOW, what a freak. He’s the man.
Oh, one other thing, why did I have to read on yahoo that Okami is injured and won’t be fighting Silva, so it’s probably going to be Cote. I may have missed that article on here, but I thought I would’ve heard somewhere. Poor Cote, stand by for the most embarrassing defeat of your career.
tj,
i kind of figured you were kidding. hoped so at least. the question i want to know is who can take on penn at 155?
oh and fedor is ahead bc why? i think he’s great, i just like hearing others views. my top three p4p are silva, penn, gsp. in that order
Rutdog – Here’s the link to our mention of the Okami injury and Cote replacement:

So are all illegal moves now going to be allowed in the UFC?
Next time – if the eye gouge doesn’t work – just kick the guy in the groin, then when he falls down because of it – kick him in the head. I mean if you don’t disqualify Burns for the eye poke – why not just break all the rules? Come on UFC judges – and refs – do what is right and reverse this call. If not, I think Johnson should get a bull dog lawyer and sue the UFC for being crooked.
Anthony Johnson needs to protect his legal rights ‘groin area’ cause the UFC sure ain’t doing it.
