if he tests positive he’s gone according to White, and technically he would not be champion in that case since the bout would be a NC
I like how Hendricks handled the ONLY question not directed towards nick or GSP. Media also dropped the ball when tubby in the red shirt didn’t ask nick directly about his comment insinuating GSP juices. The one thing I haven’t read is what if nick does do ‘the impossible’ and win? Does GSP get the immediate rematch? Or does Hendricks/condit get it? I like both guys and as a Canadian I really hope Diaz wins.
You have to be careful in following up on an unfounded accusation like that, it’s a good way to get your credentials yanked and blacklisted. Unless the guy actually has something, you wait until after the actual presser to follow up on that.
If Diaz wins, and passes his drugtest, I imagine that GSP would work his way back instead of a immediate rematch (barring some controversial action). He’s meticulous about fighting, so the Condit-Hendricks winner would likely still get the shot.
Hey Chris, I think you mentioned this before but would the UFC be that tight assed if it were a redirected question to nick on his own insinuation?
Dana White set the tone early by jumping all over Ariel for asking a question that was literally in the UFC press release. So no one wanted to go down any road like that in an open conference. The fighters are usually available after the press conference where you don’t always have to worry about coming under fire like that.
Nick is really digging the verbal hooks in deep (not surprisingly).
You have to admit, he’s pretty good at the mental jabs, (even though it makes him come off like a complete doosh at times), when he sets to pushing his opponents buttons pre-fight it typically works to his favor. You know he’ll be coming to the weigh-ins tomorrow and try to take it to another level in attempt to rattle GSP some more. I’m wondering how Georges is going to react at the weigh ins, and even more importantly how he will react once the cage doors close and the ref says “fight!”. Will Nick’s mental game ploy pay off and give him what he’s looking to capitalize on? Or will Georges keep his emotions completely under wrap and able to stick to his initial game plan and just completely humiliate Diaz in the process…
Only time will tell. I’m pretty damn excited for this to finally go down though, feels like I’ve been waiting years.
I find it hilarious how Diaz is accusing GSP of using roids but wasn’t it his best buddy jake shields that tested positive not to long ago. GSP knows everything he has ever gained would be torn away in seconds I’d he ever tests positive. There is no chance in hell he is juicing. He isn’t that stupid
