A pair of middleweight bouts have been added to UFC 162 as Tim Kennedy takes on Roger Gracie, and Mark Munoz takes on Tim Boetsch. It is currently unclear where the bouts will land on the July fight card at this time. UFC officials reported the match ups via twitter.
Strikeforce veteran Tim Kennedy will meet fellow Strikeforce import Roger Gracie in a bout that will likely be for a UFC roster spot. Kennedy was 6-2 in Strikeforce, only dropping bouts for the Strikeforce middleweight title in his run with the promotion. Gracie, part of the vaunted Gracie family, comes into the bout on a two-fight winning streak.
UFC middleweights Tim Boetsch and Mark Munoz will be looking to bounce back after devastating respective losses to teammates Costa Philippou and Chris Weidman. Both fighters will bring a mix of striking and wrestling into the cage when they face off this July.
UFC 162 takes place July 6 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. The card will be headlined by a UFC middleweight title fight as champion Anderson Silva takes on Chris Weidman. A co-headliner has yet to be announced for the card.
