The UFC’s Brazilian Twitter account has confirmed that the former number-one ranked flyweight on the planet, Jussier Da Silva, will be part of the promotion’s May 18 return to Brazil for their eighth offering on the FX network. No opponent has been named as of yet.
Jussier “Formiga” (14-2) looks to rebound from a tough loss to John Dodson in his promotional debut. Prior to suffering a knockout at the hands of “The Magician”, the Nova Uniao fighter was on a five-fight run that included a victory over perennial flyweight and former Shooto champion Mamoru Yamaguchi.
While no official opponent has been announced, the Brazilian says that he is currently eying Louis Gaudinot as potentially being the man across the cage.
UFC on FX 8 takes place May 18 at the Arena Jaraguá in Jaraguá do Sul, Brazil. The event will be headlined by the debut of the Strikeforce Middleweight Champion Luke Rockhold, who will be taking on hometown hero Vitor Belfort.
