Rory MacDonald Out of UFC 158 Bout with Carlos Condit Due to Injury

Rory MacDonaldThe infamous injury epidemic has returned once again, this time claiming Rory MacDonald as its victim, forcing him out of his UFC 158 rematch with Carlos Condit.

MMA Fighting’s Ariel Helwani first broke the news.

MacDonald (14-1) most recently put a three-round thumping on former champion B.J. Penn at UFC on Fox 5 in December. After having his hand raised, he immediately called out the one man who holds a victory over him, Carlos Condit (28-6), who had just dropped his interim welterweight title to MacDonald’s teammate Georges St-Pierre. The Canadian didn’t have to wait long to get his wish as UFC president Dana White made it official just four days later.

Unfortunately for “Aries” he will not be able to go to war with Condit at the Bell Centre in Montreal on March 16. The Tristar MMA product’s¬†vendetta will now be put on the back burner as reports have surfaced that he has suffered an undisclosed injury in training, keeping him out of the bout with the man he hopes to “embarrass”.
