UFC Tonight: Velasquez-Silva 2, Overeem-JDS Confirmed for UFC 160

Cain VelasquezA pair of heavyweight matchups have been confirmed with UFC heavyweight champion Cain Velasquez taking on Antonio “Bigfoot” Silva for a second time. In the second bout, former champion Junior dos Santos will take on former number one contender Alistair Overeem.  UFC Tonight’s Ariel Helwani confirmed the pairings earlier tonight on the FUEL TV show.

Rumors of the pairing broke earlier today after UFC president Dana White apparently let the news slip while visiting Ireland.

Velasquez and Silva will meet almost a year from the day that the AKA powerhouse destroyed “Bigfoot” in Las Vegas, Nevada. Silva was awarded the shot at the title after upsetting Alistair Overeem at UFC 156. Overeem will now take on the former heavyweight champ, Junior dos Santos, nearly a year to day after they were supposed to meet in Vegas before Overeem tested for high levels of testosterone and was suspended.

UFC 160 takes place May 25 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.

its not about what you want to see and it shouldnt be… Bigfoot has earned it with back to back knockouts plus a big upset of overeem..

actually as much as I hate to admit it, this is good idea…

have all the heavyweights that were in the mix fight on the same card.

We all know Bigfoot kinda of doesnt deserve the rematch yet, but he did beat the shi* out of Overeem.

Overeem & Junior both lost and hate each other, so both will come with their dic*s out swinging and ready to fuc* sh*t up.

Too bad there isn’t another weight class above HW to grab a challenger from. Seriously though, I thought maybe Werdum might get the opportunity where bigfoot cain was so one sided the first time. I guess the timing for the TUF Brazil wouldn’t work out.

It’s not the greatest match up but it’s the best one available, and I have nothing against Bigfoot getting the title shot he earned it fair and square and there is nothing wrong with him getting a rematch.
