It would appear that a few rumored changes to some of the Fox Network’s channels are all but official at this point, and will have a direct effect on the UFC product. According to a report by the Sports Business Journal’s John Ourand, FX and Fuel TV, which are both home to the UFC, will be undergoing several changes.
FX will be removing itself from the sports game entirely, ostensibly putting an end to UFC events on the platform, although details as to how “The Ultimate Fighter” will be affected are still foggy. The second change will see Speed and Fuel TV rebranded as Fox Sports 1 & 2, respectively. The network’s marquee sports offerings will call Fox Sports 1 home, while the niche market will occupy Fox Sports 2.
While no formal announcements have been made by FOX, UFC content will continue to air on their various Fox Sports platforms, although specifics have yet to be determined. The change is expected to be enacted in August.
