A featherweight bout originally on tap for February is headed to Sweden. Swedish fighter Akira Corassani will take on Robbie Peralta when the UFC returns to the former’s homeland this Spring. It is unclear where the bout will land on the card.
A TUF 14 veteran, Corassani made a successful UFC debut this past September, where he defeated Andy Ogle via split decision. The Swede was supposed to face Peralta at UFC 156, but the bout was delayed due to Corassani being ill.
Robbie Peralta is currently undefeated in the UFC after three fights. The hard-hitting American has not lost since 2009 and will look to keep that trend alive when he faces Corassani in enemy territory.
UFC on FUEL TV 9 is scheduled for the Ericsson Globe Arena in Stockholm, Sweden on April 6. Tickets will go on sale February 9. Last year’s UFC: Sweden set attendance records for the arena after selling out in three hours. This year’s card will be headlined by a light heavyweight duel between contenders Alexander Gustafsson and Gegard Mousasi.
