While Kurt Holobaugh failed to have his hand raised against Pat Healy at Strikeforce’s finale this past weekend, the Gracie Barra product will ostensibly be strapping on the UFC gloves in the near future.
The loss to Healy marked the first loss of his young MMA career, bringing the submission specialist to an 8-1 record.
The Louisiana native came into the bout on short notice and battled hard enough to earn his spot inside the octagon. He was unrelenting in his grappling, locking up several submissions, never allowing Healy to get comfortable and impressing the Zuffa brass. Sources close to Holobaugh have confirmed with MMA Junkie that he has already signed with the promotion.
