UFC lightweight champion Benson Henderson has inked a new eight-fight deal with the promotion. The talented lightweight now has his eye on Strikeforce lightweight champion Gilbert Melendez. Henderson announced the move via twitter.
Henderson did not release specifics on the new deal but both he and his management were more than satisfied with with new deal. “Bendo” took to twitter earlier this week after details of embattled Bellator lightweight Eddie Alvarez’s contract became public. Alvarez’s offered UFC deal would have paid the former Bellator champion more than twice the UFC champ’s reported earnings.
Henderson is looking to return to action early this spring.

this guy has made real good ufc fighters look just average and imo only one or two lw’s on earth right now have the capabilities of beating him. REALLY looking forward to a pettis henderson match up in the future.
good for Benson, a class act and a deserving champion.
Chromie, I concur wholeheartedly!!
