Invicta FC will make their fifth foray into all-WMMA fight cards when the promotion heads to California this April. The California event will be the first time the promotion travels outside Kansas City and it will likely take place at the Bren Center in Irvine, California. Invicta FC CEO Shannon Knapp announced the move on MMAJunkie radio.
Headlining the card will be Invicta FC atomweight champion Jessica Penne (pictured) taking on “The Karate Hottie” Michelle Waterson. The card will also feature the Invicta debut of former Strikeforce bantamweight champion Sarah Kaufman and a battle for the promotion’s inaugural flyweight crown as deadly striker Barb Honchak takes on Vanessa Porto.
The card will also feature the return of Invicta fan favorites Bec Hyatt, Rose Namajunas, and Veronica Rothenhausler.
While April 13 was the original date targeted by the promotion, that date will be changed with the UFC announcing the same date as the destination for The Ultimate Fighter 17 live finale. Broadcast details have yet to be worked out at this time.
