They don’t call it “Ultimate” for nothing. Things are about to get serious. The Ultimate Fighter premieres Tuesday, January 22 at 8ET/PT on FX Networks.

This season looks like it could be good.
Agreed. Though admittedly part of the anticipation for me is seeing how Jones and Sonnen are as coaches, and the move to Tuesday instead of Friday makes it much more likely I will watch.
Yea, Friday was rough. I mean the concept was there, but who wants to sit around the house at 10 on a Friday and watch that?
That’s when I stopped watching it religously. Well that, and it seems the talent pool they’re fishing from seems to be running dry. I honestly, for the past few seasons, can’t see any of those guys fighting for a title. But I guess we’ll see what happens this time around.
The talent pool is so shallow because the UFC has stopped trying to pull from untapped markets. We’re left with abunch of guys who aren’t under contract with anyone – basically meaning Uncle Pappy’s Mud Fighting League.
The show is about the coaches. the only way to combat this is to NOT HAVE THE COACHES FIGHT AFTER THE SHOW.
The coaches shouldn’t even have to be from the same weight classes. I would love to see Bang Ludwig and, say, Hendo coach two teams. Get some guys who can actually coach and have some coaching experience, without the trailer trash, fake drama.
The show was originally supposed to be about training upcoming fighters, now it’s a chance for some fake grudge match. And it sucks. It sucks the chrome off a Harley. It’s half naked, sweaty guys acting out a Mexican soap opera. **** TUF.
