Duffee Finishes De Fries in Octagon Return

Todd Duffee nearly got an early knockout before finding himself in danger after being taken down by Phil De Fries. Duffee would not yield however and escaped back to his feet. The former prospect then rocked De Fries with a nasty punch before following up with big right hands that forced a stoppage to the fight.

Holloway Edges Garcia

Leonard Garcia and Max Holloway went to battle tonight in Las Vegas, Nevada. Holloway scored an early knockdown in the first round that made Garcia get away from his game plan and get back to being the free-swing brawler he’s known for. While it appeared that Garcia had done enough to win the fight, Holloway would surprisingly get the nod.

Moraga Recovers to Defeat Cariaso

Rising prospect John Moraga struggled for the better part of two rounds to deal with the superior striking of Chris Cariaso. Arguably down two rounds heading to the third, the Arizona State University wrestling product knew he needed a finish and made sure to get that. Moraga set up the choke by grabbing a loose arm-in guillotine but adjusted it to more of a front choke with a D’arce grip that Cariaso did not see coming. The win improves Moraga to 2-0 in the Octagon.
