Strikeforce lightweight Bobby Green is the latest fighter to make the jump to the UFC and he will be welcomed by Jacob Volkmann at UFC 156. The bout will more than likely occur on the undercard of the Las Vegas card. USA TODAY first reported the matchup.
Bobby Green has won four straight since dropping hist Strikeforce debut to Gesias “JZ” Cavalcante in a tough split decision. In his last bout, Green handed talented prospect Matt Ricehouse his first career loss with a dominant performance at “Strikeforce: Rousey vs. Kaufman.”
The always vocal Jacob Volkmann is fresh off a dominant victory over Shane Roller at UFC on FX 5. The win got Volkmann back on track after a submission loss to Paul Sass snapped his five fight winning streak.
UFC 156 will take place February 2 in Las Vegas, Nevada. The card will be headlined by a UFC featherweight championship tilt between the champ, Jose Aldo, and former lightweight champion Frankie Edgar.
