Patrick Côté’s wish to fight in Montreal was granted as he receives Bobby Voelker for his welterweight debut. It is not certain where the bout will land on the card. MMAJunkie announced the match earlier today.
Voelker has won three straight fights but has been on the shelf for nearly twenty months due to Strikeforce scheduling problems for the promising welterweight. Voelker was 4-1 in the promotion, mostly fighting on the promotion’s “Challenger’s Series.” The bout with Côté will provide a strong test for the prospect, and for Côté himself.
UFC 158 is scheduled for March 18 and will take place at the Bell Centre in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. The bout will be headlined by a welterweight title fight between Georges St-Pierre and Nick Diaz, with Rory MacDonald and Carlos Condit co-headlining the card. The bout will feature yet another high profile welterweight clash between Johny Hendricks and Jake Ellenberger.

Is this going to be a WW PPV?
working out that way with Côté dropping down
Good old fashioned striker vs wrestler match up. I like it! One used to fight at 155 and the other 185. Ah the beauty of mma.
It’s good “vicious” Bobby Voelker back! I hope he gets a decisive win over Cote. Cote is over-rated!
Someone’s been using the french option on their keyboard…… Well done.
