With a myriad of MMA taking place over the weekend, one bout that largely went unnoticed took place in Moscow’s Dynamo Sports Palace as former UFC Heavyweight Champion Andrei Arlovski met Bellator veteran Mike Hayes at Fight Nights 9.
Arlovski (19-9-1) took home a unanimous decision victory. “The Pitbull” would play the role of the aggressor and outstrike Hayes (18-6-1), mixing in takedowns for good measure. Currently the marquee heavyweight of the World Series of Fighting, the Belarusian has been undefeated in his last five fights, which comes behind a failed run in the Strikeforce cage. “300”, on the other hand, now finds himself on a two-fight skid after a 10-1 run. Hayes won the Cage Warriors championship in March of this year, but would lose the strap to D.J. Linderman in June.
