A showdown between light heavyweight wrestlers has been added to the billing for UFC on Fox 6 as Ryan Bader is now slated to face Vladimir Matyushenko when the promotion takes the United Center in Chicago on January 26.
Bader (14-3) is coming off of a devastating knockout loss to former champion Lyoto Machida at the promotion’s fourth Fox offering. Prior to the loss, The Ultimate Fighter winner notched back-to-back wins against Jason Brilz and former titleholder Quinton “Rampage” Jackson.
Matyushenko (26-6) has been forced to remain shelved through the year due to a torn achilles tendon. “The Janitor” has not competed since suffering a first-round knockout to Alexander Gustafsson in December of last year. Before that loss, the Belarusian fighter took back-to-back wins over “Caracreco” Ferreira and Jason Brilz.
