Doctors Won’t Allow Cris Cyborg to Move to Bantamweight

In an effort to make the dream fight MMA fans have been longing for, former Strikeforce Women’s Featherweight Champion Cristiane “Cyborg” has reportedly consulted cardiologists to see if a move to 135 lbs. would be possible at this juncture, given her problems with making weight in the past.

Unfortunately for the Chute Boxe product and fans alike, cardiologists refuse to sign off on the move given her current physical state and musculature. According to doctors, if she were to make the move it would be at great risk to herself, and could possibly prevent her from having a child later in life, giving her an emphatic no as a response.

While a super fight with Rousey is what all parties involved want, Ronda has been adamant about the fact that “Cyborg” needs to come to her, as she is the champion. The Brazilian’s inability to do so not only makes the bout yet another a pipe dream, but Justino (formerly Santos) now fears that she will lose her shot at moving to the UFC after the dissolution of Strikeforce as a result.
