As previously reported, Fabricio Werdum and Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira will meet as TUF:Brazil coaches. The two heavyweights will then face off June 8 in the Octagon, on a card likely in Brazil as well. UFC Tonight reported the news this evening.
The two decorated heavyweights first faced off at the Pride 2006 Openweight Grand Prix Quarterfinal in Saitama, Japan, with Nogueira edging out a decision versus Werdum. A lot has changed since then, as Nogueira is on the backend of his career while Werdum is currently in his prime. Nogueira recently defeated Dave Herman at UFC 153 in Brazil and Werdum last fought at UFC 147, where he crushed Mike Russow.
“TUF: Brazil 2″ is expected to feature welterweight fighters and will begin filming early in the year with an expected debut in March 2013. As with the first season, the series will air on Globo in Brazil, while UFC.com and FUEL TV will carry it on delay in the United States.
