In a shocking bit of news, as reported by the Las Vegas Review-Journal, UFC President Dana White has pulled all of the promotion’s future events from the Pearl At The Palms. This act is reportedly due to a personal vendetta stemming from the casino reducing his gambling credit by 50%. The venue has been home to roughly fifteen UFC events dating back to 2007.
The Palms typically serves as the home of The Ultimate Fighter finales, meaning the aforementioned news would explain why this season’s closing will emanate from the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino on December 15, 2012 and see heavyweights Shane Carwin and Roy Nelson do battle.

Dana call bets off now!
Sucks for the Palms as they can lose a lot of revenue from tickets, hotels and bets. Surprising as Dana, whom is a millionaire would get 50% off his gambling credit. Palms should beg Bellator for events now.
Must be more to this…The Palms didn’t do this for just a small matter.
I agree with you, there is definitely more than we know going on here…still…if this is all a result of personal actions maybe Dana refused to pay something…or was late paying. Gambling = Waste of money in my opinion to start with…and shouldn’t dictate the location of your events, i guess the perks disappeared and so will the UFC from the Palms.
@kev agree bring in bellator.
He sure seemed to be a great tipper though…
Ive said it before ….. the money tree at the UFC is wilting .
I wonder what his cap was?
I was wondering the same thing, it must be pretty steep if he is willing to cancel these events for cutting him off. Either that or he is a vindictive pr!ck.
Really? Nothing like making business personal.
Dana is known as a great gambler who often wins ALOT of money… Maybe he has cleaned house there a few times to they trying to keep him out
what i dont get is…whats with the “credit” line anyways? the guy is a millionare, why use credit.
It’s kind of like a running tab. If he doesn’t have the cash on him, the casino will front it to him with the understanding that he’ll pay it back eventually. It’s also usually only offered to high profile figures and/or regular customers of the casino.
I wanna kno wat he was gambling on. I kno for the ufc poker game it’d b like play in this tourney knock out Dana white win 10 gs or something like that so I wanna kno wat he’s gambling on
Cuz its easier than moving the money around back and forth. I’d not be shocked if Dana just didn’t pay his debt for a while and they decided to cut him down. The guy makes 5 million a year though, I mean good god. More shady things and bad indicators…
I’m wondering if he will release a statement regarding all this…or is it too personal?
@Mikewh, I think Dana forfeited any right to privacy the second he pulled up stakes on The Palms.
I, for one, think that it sets a bad example to be gambling in any form when you are a sports executive. The alphabet soup of sports leagues have had a prohibition on players gambling for reason…
One hates to say this but in theory it could be possible ….. what if someone was a gambler and owned a sports company that wagers can be placed upon …. and only at certain times mind you , he had friends place bets on certain fights that were big on odds …. especially when he can chose the opponents of the certain to be favorite .
….. it’s all hypothetical .
I don’t think he can bet on the UFC. Not saying he doesn’t have someone else bet for him though… If I knew fighter X tried to pull out of a fight because he was injured, but I wouldn’t let him because he’s a huge draw, why not place a hefty amount on the other fighter and perhaps huge underdog.
While it does fit this situation … it is a general formula for this nature of business . I am in no way directly implying he does , just the fact that something like that could be done .
lol why not! just gamble at your bosses casinos, doesnt fertitta brothers own a casino?????
I think they own the station house ? or something along that lines …..
