MMAFrenzy continues to roll out our rankings with today’s look at the light heavyweight division. Be sure to check out our previous rankings as we continue to work our way up to heavyweight. The rankings were created by each of our staff ranking fighters 1-10 and then taking an average of the scores to establish the final ranking for the fighters. Light heavyweight is a division very much in flux as the old guard gives way to the vanguard of younger talent. That said, this is an old guard who refuses to go quietly and the addition of Chael Sonnen certainly increases the volume of that group.

Wow Gustafson above shogun huh? I like it. But Machida is not better than shogun, clearly. Ranking wise I can see where you’re going with it, but even then its shogun and Gustafson in the title eliminator fight, not Machida. Waa waa blah blah. Good stuff, thanks again.
Oh btw hilarious how just a couple of years ago Sonnen was being submitted by sometime who now fights at 170 (and whom you guys left off the top ten there btw ;)), and now you have to give him his own special mention with picture lol. What a G he is. Although I think he does beat feijau (as would rampage and s few others, i mean come on!) but anyway, so maybe there is some substance there after all!
In this division it seems after jones the #2-7 could be scrambled any way almost. Even Phil Davis he is the guy who beat Gus and his lose is to rashad who has always been highly ranked. I like feijau but some of the mentions could beat him. Not a fan of king mo but he shouldn’t be there either right now.
When everyone ranked them, it was that scrambled.
R they targeting glover and rampage for January in brazil?
All depends on Teixeiras hand, he was given a 6mo. suspension after the fight
Could the 6mo. get reduced once it heals?That would t be 6mo in january
You can always get cleared early, but a broken bone is a broken bone and ones in the hand have to be allowed to heal or they break easier the next time. So, January would likely be too soon if it is truly broken because even with the suspension lifted, he wouldn’t be able to train during that time.
