“Tractor” Out With Hand Injury, Marcus LeVesseur Steps in To Face Mike Chiesa at UFC on Fox 5

Brazilian jiu jitsu specialist Rafaello Oliveira has suffered a broken hand in training, forcing him out of a UFC on Fox 5 bout with The Ultimate Fighter: Live winner Mike Chiesa.

Marcus LeVesseur (22-6) has accepted the challenge and agreed to step in to face the TUF winner. “The Prospect” is coming off of a hard-fought unanimous decision victory over Carlo Prater at UFC on FX 5. The Minnesota Fight Factory product is 1-1 in the UFC, having falling victim to Cody McKenzie’s trademark guillotine in his promotional debut. The Aubsburg wrestler is most notably known for having put together a 296-match unbeaten streak through his high school and college wrestling career.

Chiesa (8-0) makes his first post-TUF appearance after the Cinderella story that was his “The Ultimate Fighter: Live” run. “Maverick” lost his father during the first week of the season, but would go to defeat Johnavan Vistante, Justin Lawrence, and James Vick to earn his place in the finals, where he would score a major upset victory over Al Iaquinta, defeating the Serra-Longo product via rear-naked choke in the first stanza.
