Inside MMA: “Rampage” Slams Sonnen

Quinton “Rampage” Jackson appeared on Inside MMA to speak with Bas Rutten about a variety of topics including Chael Sonnen’s sudden ascension to a UFC light heavyweight title fight, a future bout with Glover Teixeira, Ryan Bader, his MMA future and more. This seven-minute interview was left uncut to include the candid nature of the interview. Jackson is likely to face off with Teixeira some time in early-2013.

Chael Sonnen is doing for MMA Trash talk what Stone Cold Steve Austin did for the WWE as a whole. Sonnen has revolutionized the way you “earn” title shot and or big fights.
Rampage Jackson, come on dude……..just give it up already……..NOBODY takes you serious anymore.
“Chael Sonnen..ruin the sport”???????? Sonnen is doing more for MMA / casual fans than you can ever dream of buddy. Unlike you, Sonnen sells PPV’s and puts assses in seats.
All these guys hating on Sonnen are just jealous because they wish they could have sold themselves the way he does. They wish they could entertain the way he does. Most people hate Sonnen, but their hate makes them tune in to see him get beaat down.
All Rampage does is cry, cry, cry, cry,cry and CRY…….
Whether you hate Sonnen or not, whether you agree with him getting a title shot or not, MK4 guarantess one thing, you WILL be tuning in to see that fight with Jones and you WILL be tuning in to watch TUF also, don’t try to deny it……….

Didn’t the last Sonnen event do over a million ppv buys? When was the last time Rampage get even close to that?
Sonnen’s last PPV did around 900,000. Jackson topped 1,000,000 twice at 114 and 92. Of the cards they have headlined or co-headlined, Rampage has averaged about 568,500 buys over the 10 cards he’s headlined or co-headlined. Sonnen has done 500,000 over the four cards that he has headlined or co-headlined in his career. If you take rampage’s last four cards only, the average does drop to 430,000 but his lowest draw was 325,000. Sonnen’s best draws were the Silva fights, with his other fights not breaking 300,000.
The reality is, unless Sonnen is facing someone else that is already a big draw and one that he can talk crap about, he does not draw so strong.

I’m a Sonnen fan, but you are seriously in the Kool aid.
Sonnen isn’t ruining the sport, if anything Dana is for making this fight. Sonnen did the smart thing by taking the fight, but he def doesn’t deserve it. And he couldn’t hold rampage’s Jock strap when it comes to accomplishments in the cage. Otherwise, nice rant.
Rampage would destroy Sonnen….period.
@MarvelKnight4, Devin has you correctly pegged, you are definitely drinking the Kool-Aid. Chael’s whole modus operandi is smoke and mirrors, and if you think his way of “earning” a title fight is great, I feel sorry for you.
Not really sure how serious Rampage is about departing the UFC. If he looks amazing in a victory over Teixeira, who out there could compensate him better than Zuffa?
