A guaranteed bantamweight firefight has found a home on the UFC’s year-end card, which takes place at the MGM Grand Gardens Arena on December 29, as tough contenders Brad Pickett and Eddie Wineland are now slated to meet inside the octagon.
Pickett (22-6) is 2-1 inside the UFC, with a 5-2 overall record under the Zuffa banner. The Brit is on a two-fight run, taking a “Fight of The Night” win against Damacio Page and most recently a “Knockout of The Night” performance against Yves Jabouin in front of his home country in Nottingham, England.
Wineland (19-8-1) is a former WEC champion, who is riding hot behind a “Knockout of The Night” victory over former title challenger Scott Jorgensen at UFC on FX 3 in June. While the heavy-handed wrestler out of the New Breed Academy is 1-2 inside the octagon, he holds a 6-4 record in Zuffa promotions.
