“We’re not that far away from announcing our full 2013 schedule,” Wright told (Showdown) Joe Ferraro on UFC Central Radio on Sportsnet 590 The Fan late Thursday. “I can tell you that there’s going to be at least four events in Canada and you know that two of them are going to be in Montreal and Toronto because we’ve announced those two cities as annual tentpole locations for the UFC in 2013 and 2014. … There’s going to be at least two cities that may surprise a few people when we come out with our schedule and right now we’re looking at an additional three, so a total of five events in Canada, for 2014.”

WINNIPEG baby!!!! make it happen.
One of the cities will be a smaller or free ufc card and will probably in a little smaller Hockey arena.
My money would be on the John Labatt Centre in London Ont.
Definately will be in a rink that has a major junior team.
Halifax BABY!!!
I could see an FX card broadcasted out of the Metro Centre
The metrocenter in Halifax for sure!
The metrocenter in Halifax for sure!
I agree. As small as Halifax is, it would do great. MMA, Boxing, BJJ has grown quite popular in the last few years on the east coast. In 5 years, it has grown from being non-existant to multiple events per month in Atlantic-Canada. The card could have local popular guys like TJ Grant, Jason MacDonald, Rory MacDonald, Ryan Jimmo… Let’s go Halifax!
i am hoping winnipeg manitoba they already have mma fights there ifl, king of the cage and such,,, the mts center holds 15,000 and change for a hockey game so probably around 18,000 but this arena you dont have a bad seat in the hole arena really nice set up
@UFC149 Tom Wright promised Calgary would be getting a event in 2013. I’ll be very dissapointed if that falls through.
Well, at least we know where GSP will be fighting for the next 2 years after 154.
Halifax, preferably during the school year, as I miss the Toronto cards because they’re scheduled for September from herein. As a University student missing the professional sports Toronto provides, UFC in Halifax would be dope. Metro Centre would definitely be a fitting location for a UFC on FX or Fuel card.
Halifax would sell out 12-13 thousand seats in hours. World class facilities. The city has hosted several global events. MMA is already sanctioned. And to top it off…4 or 5 current fighters came out of the HRM…that in itself is a story.
Do it Tom!
