As is usually the case for the UFC’s new year’s event, the promotion has continued to stack their December 29 show as a featherweight title eliminator between Eric Koch and Ricardo Lamas has been added to the bill.
Koch (13-1) was recently slated to face 145 lb. kingpin Jose Aldo at UFC 153, but was forced off the bill due to injury. “New Breed” is on a four-fight win-streak that includes wins over Jonathan Brookins, Raphael Assuncao, Francisco Rivera, and Bendy Casimir.
Lamas (12-2) is on a three-fight run that saw the wrestler take a submission victory over the surging Cub Swanson. “The Renegade” most recently notched an upset victory over perennial top featherweight Hatsu Hioki at UFC on FX 4, launching himself into contention.
UFC 155 will emanate from the MGM Grand Gardens Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.
