Steve Bosse vs. James Thompson TKO 35 Bout Scrapped
A rumored bout between former hockey enforcer Steve Bosse and EliteXC and PRIDE veteran James “The Colossus” Thompson that was to take place at TKO 35 has been scrapped after Thompson turned down the matchup.
The Fight Network confirmed that Thompson declined the matchup with his manager, Ken Pavia, as well as TKO President Stephane Patry.
“We wanted a good opponent with a recognizable name for Bosse like we had in Wes Sims for his last fight,†Patry told The Fight Network. “We’ll bring in someone who can test him. He doesn’t want any easy fights. If he wins that fight his next fight will likely be for the [TKO heavyweight] title.â€
Bosse (3-1) debuted in mid-2007 and posted back-to-back wins over David Fraser and Jody Burke. In December he suffered his first professional loss, a third-round TKO defeat to Icho Larenas, but bounced back in June with a first-round submission victory over UFC veteran Wes Sims.
The current rumored fight card for the October 3rd event is after the jump…
