A pair of fights have been added to The Ultimate Fighter 16 Finale, which is slated to take place December 15 at The Joint at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada, will now see Jonathan Brookins battle Dustin Poirier in a featherweight bout while Tim Elliot takes on Jared Papazian in the flyweight division.
Jonathan Brookins (13-5), The Ultimate Fighter 12 winner, is coming off of a loss to Brazilian jiu jitsu ace Charles “Do Bronx” Oliveira. Prior to that setback, the Gracie Barra product took a TKO victory over Vagner Rocha. Dustin Poirier (12-2) most recently suffered a submission loss at the hands of “The Korean Zombie” Chan Sung Jung in what proved to be a fight of the year contender. Before the loss, “Diamond” was on a five-fight win-streak which included victories over the likes of Max Holloway, Pablo Garza, and Josh Grispi.
Tim Elliot (8-3) will be looking to earn his first promotional victory after having lost a unanimous decision to John Dodson in his debut. Papazian (14-8) is also seeking his first elusive UFC win behind suffering back-to-back losses against Mike Easton and Dustin Pague.
