After a wildly entertaining night of fights from the HSBC Arena in Rio De Janeiro, Brazil, the UFC has announced the evening’s fight night bonuses as hometown heroes “Minotauro” Nogueira and Rony “Jason” go home $70,000 richer, as do Jon Fitch and Erick Silva for their instant classic at UFC 153.
Nogueira, who took a fight with Dave Herman on a month’s notice, took home “Submission of The Night” with a second-round armbar. The former Pride and UFC Heavyweight Champion proved, much to the chagrin of his opponent, that “jiu jitsu stuff works” at 4:31 at the end of the second frame.
Rony “Jason” was given the “Knockout of The Night” bonus for his destruction of TUF veteran Sam Sicilia. A massive overhand right from the Brazilian sent an already dazed Sicilia to the floor, where the winner of TUF Brazil Winner would finish the fight with a slew of hammerfists at 4:16 of the middle period.
Coming into his octagon return after nearly a year on the shelf, Jon Fitch, a man not normally associated with excitement, promised to look for the fight of the night when he faced Brazilian dynamo Erick Silva, and the AKA product delivered in a unanimous decision victory. After a wildly entertaining 15 minutes, which saw a hotly contested opening two periods, followed by the former title challenger beating the tar out of the prospect in the closing, both Fitch and Silva were awarded “Fight of The Night” Bonuses.

I thought gambino and Marcello should’ve got fotn easy
Davis should have got submission of the night. We see arm bars all the time how often you see an anaconda choke (he was probably the last one to get an anaconda choke).
I agree, Davis got robbed for sub of the night. Love Big Nog but the anaconda was a slick lock. Herman looked terrible
FOTN I thought the Jason and Sicilia fight could have gotten that also.
After the main event I can’t imagine anyone really wanting to see GSP fight silva.
@Mikemac
If you were GSP, how would you feel after watching that fight? LOL!
Personally, I probably would have been like, “sooooo when is Nick Diaz coming back?”
@fcfighter
That’s exactly what he was thinking(or should be).
We will never see silva vs jones! I do believe Weidman should be next for silva
