As with much of the news involving the California State Athletic Commission nowadays, today’s hearing for former Strikeforce Light Heavyweight Champion Rafael Cavalcante was a bit of a jumbled mess. “Feijao” was looking to appeal his suspension behind testing positive for Stanozolol after his decimation of Mike Kyle this passed May.
Howard Jacobs, “Feijao’s” attorney, and manager Ed Soares argued that the commission mishandled the Brazilian’s urine sample. When confronted about the situation, Chief Inspector Che Guevara was taken aback, fumbling to defend the commission, and stating that they are “overworked”.
In the end, it did little to change to change the result as the commission voted unanimously to reject the appeal. The Sao Paulo native will serve a retroactive year-long suspension, ending on May 18, 2013. Additionally, Cavalcante was fined $2,500

Wow this is terrible. The athletic commission is actually somewhat at fault and they still fine him and give him a longer suspension?
Too bad he wasn’t American. Then his suspension would be reduced.
There should be a higher power because it seems in the past 2-3 years the athletic commissions have too much power, that they bully people around even when they are in the wrong to save face.
Che Guevara? Working for the government?
My ironymometer is going bat-quack crazy.
^^haha!
