Strikeforce Update: Rockhold Injured, Off 11/3 Card

Strikeforce continues to take some serious hits as middleweight champion Luke Rockhold has been forced out of his November 3 matchup with Lorenz Larkin. It is unclear what this means for the Oklahoma City card with there still being no replacement for the injured Frank Mir for headliner Daniel Cormier.
MMA insider Front Row Brian first reported the injury earlier today with MMAFighting confirming the news a short time ago. It is unclear whether Rockhold’s scheduled opponent, Larkin, will receive a new opponent after news of the injury broke.
The November 11 card is currently set for Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. However, the card now appears in jeopardy as the time to find Cormier a replacement is dwindling quickly. This is the third major injury news to hit Strikeforce in recent weeks, as lightweight champion Gilbert Melendez was injured a few weeks ago and then the aforementioned injury to former UFC heavyweight champion Frank Mir.

I have a solution..Rousey and Cormier vs Larkin and Marquardt. You cannot save this card. All this does is make clear how pathetic sf is in terms of talent and depth. The challengers are so bad that they cannot even be part of the head liner when paired with any other fighter in the org lol. Close it already please!
Until Showtime doesn’t renew a TV contract with Strikeforce, Zuffa can’t just shut them down without facing another antitrust probe.
Zuffa has ZERO power in this situation. That has to be an uncomfortable situation for them.
How long is the current contact with showtime? That explains why the Ufc generally disregards SF like an ugly red headed step child (whether they realize it or not).
there’s an option for 2013, but, Zuffa is reportedly on the hook for contracted shows that it didn’t produce in 2011 or 2012
Meaning they have to pay for events like this that are canceled? Or they just have to pay for events they blatantly don’t setup?
Meaning they were supposed to do (x) in events in each year but only did (y). They may try to negotiate that down if they negated the deal, but Zuffa still owes them apparently.
Oh oh got it. Wow..so this could finally be the end here soon. Hopefully! I’d love to see Rockhold, Melendez, Marquardt, and even Thompson in the Ufc. And a few more…
