UFC Chatter: Parisyan Comments on Fight With Burkman, Welterweight Title

Posted by Kris Karkoski on May 8, 2007 at 10:17 pm ETNo Comments

“I don’t train for fights. I train for three or four weeks to cut my weight and fight.  I fight guys based on talent.  I don’t fight guys to get in shape and get ready for a fight, which is pathetic for a lot of welterweight fighters. It’s not about the coaching.  We know what we’re supposed to do.  It’s always good to have a coach to get inside your head, but it’s not that big of a difference at all, because if you’re a professional fighter, you’re a professional fighter. I don’t know if that’s a good thing, but I try to make the best of it.

I think Burkman is a big fight for me. Josh has a semi name, God willing, it will be a good win for my record, at the same time it will put me up the ladder. I frickin want my title shot, and I still can’t fucking believe they’re giving Matt Hughes a title shot?  And he’s going to be a coach on the new show?  I think it’s fu***** pathetic. If I beat Josh Burkman, I want my title shot.”
