Former UFC middleweight contender and company mouthpiece Chael Sonnen has been featured in a new series of vignettes for the upcoming eight season of It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia. The angle is that Chael P. will be taking over the role of Dennis Reynolds, “formerly” portrayed by Glenn Howerton.

The bombastic wrestler takes almost no time in returning to his bag of tricks by saying “if I finally get my chance, great. If not, I’ll go back to the streets and return to gang life.” Although nothing has been confirmed, these FX produced segments likely have something to do with UFC’s partnership with their parent company, Fox. UFC President Dana White has stated  in the past that Sonnen is one of the most in-demand fighters on the roster, and gaining further exposure for the promotion is always good for business.
