The UFC has added a light heavyweight match-up to the December 15 finale of The Ultimate Fighter: UK vs Australia. Joey Beltran and Anthony Perosh will face off in a battle for relevance inside the division at the Gold Coast Convention and Exhibition Centre in Broadbeach, Gold Coast, Australia.
Beltran (14-8) is looking to rebound from a short notice loss to James Te Huna at UFC on Fuel TV 4. Prior to that bout, “The Mexecutioner” has been bounced from the promotion after being knocked out by Lavar Johnson at heavyweight. The San Diego native then made the move down to 205 lb. and took out Anton Talamantes on the regional circuit.
Perosh (13-7) holds hometown advantage as he welcomes Beltran to Australia, the longtime veteran made the move to light heavyweight after losing to Mirk0 “Cro Cop” at UFC 110. “The Hippo” looked unstoppable in the lighter division, earning wins over the likes of Tom Blackledge, Cyrille Diabate, and Nick Penner. Unfortunately for the Aussie, no one told Ryan Jimmo in his UFC debut. Perosh looks to rebound after having suffered a brutal knockout at the hands of the former MFC Champion at UFC 149, tying the record for the fastest knockout in the promotion’s history.
