World Series of Fighting has added a heavyweight main event to the billing of their inaugural event as Andrei Arlovski takes on Devin Cole. The signing of Arlovski, a former UFC champion was announced by the upstart promotion earlier today.
The Belarusian fighter stands at 17-9 and is currently undefeated since his failed Strikeforce run. Currently on a three-fight unbeaten streak, “The Pitbull” has beaten Ray Lopez, Travis Fulton, and most recently had a knockout win over career rival Tim Sylvia overturned at ONE FC 5.
Cole (20-9), who last competed in the Strikeforce cage in 2011, comes into the bout on back-to-back wins over Shawn Jordan and Gabriel Salinas-Jones. The Oregonian was slated to face Travis Browne at UFC on Fox 4, but five sexual abuse charges from 2008 kept him out of the promotion.
WSOF 1 takes place November 3 at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada. The main portion of the card is slated to be aired on NBC Sports, formerly known as Versus. the home of the WEC.
