After dropping a unanimous decision to Strikeforce Middleweight Champion Luke Rockhold in July, Tim Kennedy looks to turn things around as he meets Trevor Smith in Oklahoma City at the Chesapeake Energy Center on November 3.
Kennedy (14-4) is 5-2 inside the Strikeforce cage, with both losses coming in title bouts against “Jacare” Souza and the aforementioned Rockhold, respectively. The Army sniper holds victories over the likes of UFC veterans Robbie Lawler and “Mayhem” Miller as well as K-1 and DREAM veteran Melvin Manhoef.
Smith (10-2) comes into the bout holding a 2-1 record in the promotion, recently suffering a TKO loss to Gian Villante in January. “Hot Sauce” then rebounded from the loss by taking a fight outside the promotion, knocking off Alexandre Moreno with a first-round guillotine choke in June.
