It would seem there has been a change of heart at the offices of ONE FC as the previously reported Ole Laursen vs. Zorobabel Moreira lightweight title bout has been scrapped, although no official reason has been given. “Zoro” will now meet Japanese veteran Kotetsu Boku at ONE FC 6, which takes place at the Singapore Indoor Arena on October 6, to crown the promotion’s inaugural 155 lb king.
Moreira (7-1) recently brutalized Roger Huerta at ONE FC 4, in a bout which saw the Brazilian knockout the UFC and Bellator veteran with a brutal soccer kick in the second stanza. “Zoro” looks to build on his current five-fight win-streak, which includes stoppage victories over highly touted prospect Felipe Enomoto and Ultimate Fighter veteran Andy Wang.
Boku (19-7-2), a Shooto veteran, is currently on a 5-1 run, most recently picking up a knockout victory Shin Kochiwa in July. The former K-1 Max kickboxer holds career victories over UFC veterans Hermes Franca and Eiji Mitsuoka, as well as WEC veteran “Pequeno” Nogueira.
