  • buddy says:

I dont see hermes as the dog in this fight.

  • The Gunslinger says:

man people are gonna lose alot of money when irvin knockouts silva in the first or second…….The sandman shall prevale!

  • The Gunslinger says:

ya i think franca is gonna destroy edgar also does anyone know when gray maynards next fight is im a huge gray fan and want him to win the lw title soon

  • The Rob says:

I personally gurantee and am willing to bet everything I have ever owned, on the fact that James Irvin DOESNT STAND A CHANCE against Anderson Silva. I know the old phrase ‘Anything can happen on any given day’… But that just doesn’t apply here.

And Yes, I agree that Franca will win. Unfrotunately for Maynard, he’d have to go thru Xtreme teammate Tyson Griffin before he could get a shot at Bj Penn [both of whom would likely whoop him].

  • Dietrich says:

Somebody is going to lose their job as oddsmaker. Franca should win…

  • I see da future says:

Who gives a **** about a fluke knockout artist??? Just look @ what happened 2 rampage… it takes a well rounded fighter to rien supreme in da ufc & da spider iz it..

  • Lord Mark says:

I’m pulling for Frankie Edgar in this one. Hermes Franca is a B!tch.

  • rutdog says:

Franca off the roids will get man-handled by Frankie. Irvin by KO 48 seconds in. Make that money.

  • JustJoe says:

Why would anyone put money on Silva with those odds? You gotta take the underdog here! Whoever put money on Griffin and now Irvin has a chance to make a killing .

  • YZFOXRACING says:

I DON’T UNDERSTAND HOW THIS BETTING ODDS WORK. CAN SOME ONE EXPLAIN PLEASE

  • rutdog says:

Is this the initial line or is this the line right now. Because if this is now, I agree with Justjoe, you would have to be a fool with the many upsets in MMA to place a cent on Silva even if you know without a doubt, you’re still ignorant. YZ, first, why do you always insist on Caps Lock. Kinda annoying. Second, the odds. Well at -500, if you put up $500 on Silva, and he wins, you get $100 profit. On Irvin, if you put $100, you win $350. SO, that $500 I mentioned on Silva, if it was placed on Irvin and he won, that would be $1750 you would win. 3.5 times what you bet. I have to admit that with Irvin’s puncher’s chance that he carries into every fight, I might be thinking he’s a good bet.

  • The Rob says:

He’s not a good bet though. Odds-wise, sure. But Anderson fights so smartly. He just won’t get caught. Watch any of his fights. This is not a normal fighter we’re talking about. This is the guy who most people consider pound for pound better than Bj Penn, GSP, and Fedor Emilianenko. James Irvin hasn’t even ever been mentioned with the likes of Chuck Liddell, Forrest Griffin, or Rampage, yet now he’s got a shot at beating up Silva? nope… You’re much better off throwing that $500 down on Silva, at least then you’re guranteed some sort of profit…

  • FixXeR says:

I would take them odds. I like Irvin in this one.

  • Dietrich says:

Anybody got a measurement on reach as the height is a toss up for the thai clinch.Longshots are a beautiful thing but the losses to Bonnar and Lodune Sincaid would make me very cautious about a big play on Irvin.

  • JB says:

If you wanna talk about anderson not getting caught, watch the ryo chonan fight(flying scissor heal hook)

  • YZFOXRACING says:

THAT WAS SICK. I SAW THAT SUBMISSION THE OTHER DAY..

  • the gunslinger says:

thats what im saying irvin is got this fight he is training great and hes 100%..he has nothing to lose in this fight but if silva loses his p4p status is gone……Irvin is my favorite fighter hense the name gunslinger(hes always shoots his opponent after he beats them) but anyways irvin has a great shot at beating anderson in this fight….no one knows what anderson will be like at 205….he could be alot slower and slugish..Irvin will win this fight..if he doesnt ill admit im wrong on this site!

  • Dietrich says:

The Ryo Chonan thing was is and will always be beautiful. And the weight is the unknown variable.
A pro Irvin point would be his handling Marshall. It shows his ability to trade in a fury with a similar body type. The Bonnar fight should give you pause as he was stalled by a trained boxer/jiujitsu fighter with no punching power. And Sincaid taking him three rounds is scary because Sincaid has been on a downward spiral since TUF. His ground is like wrestling in the mud.

  • joel b says:

irvin and andy not getting any love that is forsure well its like I predicted

  • The Rob says:

Just because Anderson Silva fights at 185 doesn’t mean he is 185 lbs when the fight starts. This guy walks around well over 200 and probably re-hydrates up to 195-200lbs for his normal fights. He won’t look much different, if at all, come July 19th.

Side note: Why the hell did Arlovski shave his beard? He looks gay now.

  • the gunslinger says:

Well all im saying is If Irvin wins this an immediate title shot should be given that or a shot at the winner of chuck and rashad…..you cant deny either of those if irvin bets the #1 P4P fighter in the world

  • Dietrich says:

The Gunslinger is right. If Irvin wins that’s too much heat to ignore.

  • The Rob says:

I disagree. If Lyoto can’t get a title shot, Irvin shouldn’t. Lyoto is fighting another 13-0 fighter in Thiago Silva at ufc 89, the winner of that should get that elusive title shot… Thiago Silva afterall, dominated and beat the holy hell out of Irvin, ending it early in the first round …only 13 months ago

There’s just too many good fighters in the light heavyweight. What a great problem to have…

  • Dietrich says:

    The Rob,
Your position is one promoting fairness…In this case if he wins he’s the hottest name bare minimum is winner of Silva Machida for title shot. Machida-Forrest would almost have to be free It would not sell out the MGM Grand.

  • Dietrich says:

205 is almost worth its own division with the company…

  • The Rob says:

Forrest-Machida would easily sell out MGM. Forrest alone would sell out MGM. He’s straight out of Vegas. He owns Vegas. And next to Chuck Liddell, he’s everyone’s favourite, Dana White included. Yep.

  • Jagman says:

Edgar will outwreslte franca. I got -145 at mgm last sunday on him.

  • the gunslinger says:

    The rob,

As much as i love machida hes probably my second favorite fighter If irvine wins he has got to be close i mean machida winning 5 in a row against ok competition is not as good as a fast beatdown of the #1 p4p best fighter in the world…of course this is if irvine beats silva

And also rob thiago did not beat the hell out of the sandman ok….the sandman was tooling him and coming in fast beating the crap out of him then he got injured and silva acted like he did anything to win that fight…I want a rematch irvin by 8 sec. superman punch or flying knee!

  • JOHNBOY says:

ten pound double franca and irvin looks tastey just wish they had the betting over in the uk

  • JAI says:

SUPER Dangerous match up for Silva. Irvin’s got HUGE power. I can’t wait to see this fight. I hope the Spider takes care of business in impressive fashion…..Hope Brandon Vera can get back on a winning track…..Anothy Johnson will win in super impressive fashion. This kid has some explosive power.

  • Dietrich says:

Palms maybe, MGM don’t see it. Machida is a coronation fight not a challenge fight as I don’t think he is a threat for Forrest. He’s got a great record and is a skilled fighter no doubt I just think Forrest gives him the KO when he can’t Ko anyone else in the division. Just my Opinion.

  • mmaaddict says:

I hope silva and vera will win their fights. I can’t wait to see these guys in action.

  • Jay says:

I’ll just put all my money on Hermes Franca instead of other fighter who will pay out allot less. CHA_CHING !!!
