The upstart promotion World Series of Fighting has been making waves since it’s initial launch and once again finds itself in the news before their premier event. While news of a televised deal with NBC Sports and the signing of former WEC Bantamweight Champion Miguel Torres have made headlines in recent months, this time it’s a change in the commentary booth that has people talking.
Olympic Gold Medalist and TNA wrestler Kurt Angle was originally slated to be the third man in the booth with Bas Rutten and Michael Schiavello, but it would seem his current contract with Viacom has forced him out of the position. The wrestling legend tweeted yesterday, “As Requested that I Must Announce, I will not be Commentating (World Series of Fighting) Nov3 on NBC Sports, Due to A Conflict of Interested.” [sic]
Filling in for Angle will be MMA pioneer Renzo Gracie. Gracie, a UFC and PRIDE veteran, has flexed his commentating chops in the past, most recently filling a seat in the booth for ONE FC.

“Conflict of Interested”? Well, I guess I’m out.
sadly the actual quote…
Direct quote, btw. Who says those chair shots had no long-term effect?
Renzo seems like a good guy and all , but his mug is getting old . Seems to be at all the Gracie fights acting as the family spokesperson . Gracies havnt had a lot of wins under the unified rules …. and with all the hybrid JJ out there designed for MMA I cant see the relevance anymore . The history is there for sure but its all in the past now .
