UFC 154, which takes place November 17 at Bell Centre in Montreal, has seen the addition of a bantamweight tilt as Ivan Menjivar, has been addedto the bill in his hometown as he welcomes Azamat Gashimov to the octagon.
Menjivar (24-9), a longtime veteran of the sport, looks to rebound from a unanimous decision loss to Mike Easton in July at UFC 148. The loss snapped a three-fight win-streak. which saw the Tristar product earn victories over John Albert, Nick Pace, and, most notably, Charlie Valencia with a highlight reel standing elbow knockout.
Gashimov (7-1) makes his debut after earning six stoppage victories in his seven career wins. The Russian enters the octagon behind a head kick knockout over Alexandr Ionov and armbar submission of Azay Mamedov, both of which came within in the confines of the opening period.
