UFC on Fuel TV 6 Taking Shape

The UFC’s first venture into China, which takes place November 10 at the CotaiArena in Macau, is beginning t0 take shape as several bouts on the bill have been made official.

UFC on Fuel TV 6 is anchored by a clash of former champions as former UFC Middleweight Champion Rich Franklin (29-6) faces off with former Strikeforce Middleweight Champion Cung Le (8-2). The two were originally slated to meet at UFC 148, but being the company man that he is, “Ace” stepped into a UFC 147 headlining bout with Wanderlei Silva after a hand injury forced Vitor Belfort out of the match, which Franklin went on to win. Le would outpoint the returning Patrick Cote, at the aforementioned 148, finally setting up the meeting between the two.

Dong Hyun Kim (15-2-1) will return, looking to rebound from a calamitous injury loss to debuting welterweight Demian Maia at UFC 148, to face off with Paulo Thiago (14-4). Thaigo also looks to rebound, after having suffered the first knockout loss of his career at the hands of Siyar Bahadurzada.

Also on the bill is light heavyweight tilt which pits Thiago Silva (14-3) against Stanislav Nedkov (12-0). Silva recently made his return to action after 15 months on the shelf due to a false urine sample, losing a unanimous decision to Alexander Gustafsson at UFC on Fuel TV 2. The undefeated Nedkov most recently defeated Silva’s former stablemate Luiz Cane at UFC 134, but hasn’t seen action in over a year.
