Strikeforce Middleweight Champion Luke Rockhold is now slated to make his third title defense on November 3 as the AKA product is scheduled to meet with the undefeated Lorenz Larkin. Strikeforce: “Cormier Vs. Mir” takes place at the Chesapeake Energy Arena in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
Rockhold (10-1) is coming off of a unanimous decision victory over Tim Kennedy in July. The Californian’s title run began one year ago when he outpointed Ronaldo “Jacare” Souca in an underrated classic, the champion then went on to knockout UFC veteran Keith Jardine en route to his most recent defense.
Larkin (13-0) moved to the middleweight after loss to Muhammed Lawal was overturned by the Nevada State Athletic Commission. Making his 185 lb. debut in July, Larkin easily outstruck divisional mainstay Robbie Lawler, taking home a unanimous decision. Larkin now looks to be the man who puts an end to Rockhold’s reign over the Strikeforce middleweight division.
