Following news of his quiet, somewhat surprising release from the UFC, Miguel Torres has signed to the World Series of Fighting and will compete on their November 3 event. While Torres was originally slated to compete at Titan FC’s November 2 show, he is now off the bill and will fight for the promotion at a later date.
The former WEC Bantamweight Champion announced his release from Zuffa via his website last month, Torres (40-5) was quietly let go with 2-2 record following a knockout loss to Michael McDonald at UFC 145 in April. “Angel” now makes his WSF debut at the Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada. The event is expected to air on NBC Sports (formerly Versus, the home of the WEC), but the final details will be revealed this coming Thursday at as World Series of Fighting holds a press conference to officially announce the event.
