UFC veteran John Gunderson has inked a three-fight deal with the Resurrection Fighting Alliance, who announced earlier today that Ed Soares has taken over the role of the promotion’s president. The Team Tompkins fighter joins the ranks of some of RFA’s recent quality accusations which includes the likes Tyson Griffin, Sergio Pettis, Gilbert Yvel, Chidi Njokuani, Chris Holdsworth, and Bubba Jenkins.
While neither a date nor opponent have been officially announced, “Guns” is likely targeted for the RFA’s forthcoming event which takes plane in October in Las Vegas.
Gunderson (34-14) is 1-2 in 2012, with a recent loss to David Castillo snapping a two-fight win-streak over fellow UFC veterans Justin Buchholz and most notably Karo Pariyan. The Texan became the first man to make the Armenian judoka submit in his MMA career at ShoFight 20 this passed June. “Guns” will now look to rebound form the recent loss and get back the momentum he had built up prior to the bout with Castillo.
