You thought it was over, didn’t you? Well, the UFC’s injury epidemic has struck again, this time it’s Josh Koscheck who finds himself shelved with a bulging disc in his back. The All-American Wrestler was slated to co-headline UFC 151 at the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas on September 1, in a welterweight clash with Jake Ellenberger. News of Koscheck’s injury was revealed on UFC Tonight on Fuel TV.
Koscheck (17-6) would have been looking to rebound from a recent contentious decision loss Johny Hendricks. While there’s no news as of yet as to what awaits Jake Ellenberger (27-6), who is also looking to rebound from a comeback loss to Martin Kampmann, there is certainly no shortage of opposition in the UFC’s stacked welterweight division. With a recent cut to Rory MacDonald, former champion B.J. Penn finds himself without an opponent, also in the ether are Thiago Alves, Siyar Bahadurzada, and Paul Thiago, any of which would be a serviceable challenge for “The Juggernaut”.

Sounds like Penn has his heart set on MacDonald, so I’d be shocked to see him accept this one instead.
penn will not take this fight. alves would make the most sense both coming off of getting knocked out by the flying dutchman
My vote would be for Ellenberger/Bahadurzada.
Karma is a b. I’d like to see ellenberger v Erik silva
Ah remembered silva is fighting fitch in Brazil. In that case I agree with Todd, ellenberger v siyar. Give him a great test that lands him right into the elite of 170 should he beat Jake.
I believe Alves got submitted when he went for the takedown. Not coming off a knockout
Alves went for the takedown after sending Kampmann staggering… so everyone is kind of right…
Jay Hieron against jake now
Hmm. Yea, I’d probably want to have a bulged disc instead of getting beat up by Ellenberger too.
