Ultimate Fighter 5 winner and number one contender for the lightweight title Nate Diaz has inked a contract extension with the UFC. UFC president Dana White said on Saturday that he would be meeting with Cesar Gracie this week to discuss Nate Diaz’s contract. It would seem a deal has been reached as the UFC president tweeted “Just wrapped up another deal with Nate Diaz and Cesar Gracie”, followed almost immediately by “Done deal,” with the accompanying image.
Diaz (16-7) currently sits as the number one contender for the UFC Lightweight Title after decimating Jim Miller at UFC on Fox 3 in May. Diaz will meet the winner of this weekend’s UFC 150 min event as former champion Frankie Edgar tries to recapture the gold from the man who rested it from him, Ben Henderson.
