After an unfortunate eye poke ended their UFC on Fox 4 matchup prematurely, the UFC is aiming for Phil Davis and Wagner Prado to meet again in Minneapolis, Minnesota. UFC President Dana White announced the move during the UFC on Fox 4 post-fight press conference. UFC on FX 5 will take place October 5.
The first fight ended early between the two fighters when Phil Davis put his hand up to create space and accidentally caught Prado below the eye. The eye had a cut and some swelling underneath it but it seemed like the fight would continue until a miscommunication between Prado and the doctor lead to the fight being called, with the Brazilian protesting vehemently. The two will now get their chance to show their skills two months from now.
UFC on FX 5 takes place October 5 at the Target Center in Minneapolis. The card will be headlined by a heavyweight clash between Travis Browne and Antonio Silva. The card will also mark the UFC debut of flyweight submission master Jussier da Silva as he takes on Jon Dodson.

Excited they set the rematch. I was looking forward to see Phil back in there
I want to see Jussier da silva fight myself . I remember reading an article on him a few years back …… he wasn’t allowed to leave his country to fight and was as dirt poor as you get . His house was/is a vacant shack style shanty that has those 3rd world dirty cement walls ……. best of luck to him .
I have to agree Doc. I have seen some video of the guy. Most fighters are at their best when they are still hungry like that. This guy is like a small beast. Most of his fights have been streetfight/vale tudo/underground cage fights with the exception of the last few of his fights, where he was with a local promotion. Still under vale tudo rules if I am not mistaken. If he doesn’t let the octagon get under his skin as some fighters do, the flyweight division just got a whole lot of mean.
Im excited to see Wagner Prado he has one of the meanest looking faces ive ever seen….very intense..
BTW, the “Poke of the night” goes to Mr. Wonderfull…
